From Saitek: Saitek Industries Ltd. has announced the shipping of the Eclipse II, a slim computer keyboard with backlighting which shines through laser-etched keys. Building upon the popularity of its predecessor, the Eclipse II now offers a choice of colors – purple, red and blue – selectable by the user and adjustable via a dimmer mechanism. The key characters and keypad illuminate while the weighted base and large area rubber feet help keep it on the desk. Some of the new features include media keys for volume control, Play/Pause and Skip tracks which offer intuitive control of PC media players without the need to open new application windows on screen.

I have to admit I have been a fan of these keyboards since they first came out, and I know that the first generation of the Eclipse line is still running strong in quite a few of my friend's homes. While you are waiting for our full review, you can look through our archives and find a review of Saitek's last offering to GPF, the Saitek Notebook Mouse, which performed pretty well if I remember correctly.  I have high hopes for the newest iteration of backlit input action from Saitek, and we will hopefully be able to bring you an in-depth look at this keyboard soon.
