404 of the Week

www.uktvstyle.co.uk
This is the newest, the best, and the first reality show to do exactly what it says. Watching Paint Dry. Direct from Europe, this reality show can only be justified by its very own press release. "Every day a different kind of paint will be put onto a wall. Watch the action every day online and vote for your favourite paint." The show will run for eight weeks and the results will be announced at 5 PM each day, and then the color will be painted. Every Friday there is an "Emulsion Show" in which the least voted for paint gets sent home to the hardware store to hang its handle in shame. The final show will unveil the favorite paint, and then a demolition of the good old Wall O' Paint. [ Visit Website ]

Earth View
The newest so far in our 404 of the Week section, soon to be outdated in a week or two by another 404 of the Week, was submitted by one of our listeners in Homer, Alaska, Anne Knapton. Called Earth View, the site allows you to zoom in on any part of the world, updated to the minute. Seeing it up to the minute allows you to see what portion of the world is covered in darkness, or enblazened by the light of the sun. Clicking on a part of the earth centers the image around that point, and clicking zoom in enlarges that spot. Enough options to send your mind on a tweaking spree, Earth View is simple and gives you a good idea about how the whole world looks from way up high in space, not way down low on the earth.

Similar Search Engines
Many different websites have been taking on the looks of other websites, and with Google's hold on the search engine world, everyone wants to look like Google. Google started off and has stayed with a basic look, and now Yahoo.com has started to morph into a Googlewannabee while AltaVista.com's search engine has jumped onto the train and has been retooled to look just as basic and simple as Google.

Each search engine has the basic Arial font in tabs for different searches: images, yellow pages, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Yahoo.com and AltaVista.com seem to have duplicated the color scheme as well and both look very similar. Coincidence... We think not! [ Visit Website ]
